Yoga Retreat in the Autumn – Sunday 13th October

19 Sep 2019

Following a very successful Afternoon Yoga Retreat in July in The Bothy, we are very excited to be holding another retreat on Sunday 13th October 2019 at our venue just south of Edinburgh. This time, we’ll be welcoming Laura Bonini of Free Spirit Yoga and Jenn Usher of Lamb Yoga as your teachers and hosts for the day.

The Autumn Yoga Day Retreat will be held in our Old Mill. This space, shown in the photos below (right hand side), was originally designed as a yoga and meditation studio. It has underfloor heating, cosy woodburning stove, a painted wooden floor and loads of space. A quick furniture re-shuffle will open up the room once again for 12-14 yogis. We will provide all yoga mats, blankets, blocks and other props.

AUTUMN Yoga day retreat Programme

This is a “Rest, Revive and Recharge” yoga day retreat. It will run on Sunday 13th October from 10am to 5.30pm. The cost is £65 including homemade snacks and a light lunch.

You’ll be guided through three yoga sessions throughout the day, covering all bases with:

  • An energising vinyasa flow class
  • A guided meditation and relaxation class
  • A hip-opening workshop.

We will also spend time enjoying the stunning grounds at Dod Mill, with time for a walk if the weather stays dry. You’ll get to check-out Dod Mill’s latest project, the Kiln House, where you’ll be treated to homemade lunch as well as snack, teas and fruit juices throughout the day.

There will be plenty of time to talk, reflect and and enjoy the cosy atmosphere by the log burner in the studio space in Old Mill.

Your Yoga Teachers

Laura Bonini (left) joins us from Free Spirit Yoga and Jenn Usher (right) joins from Lamb Yoga. Both are very experienced and talented yoga instructors.

WHAT LEVEL OF YOGA WILL YOU TEACH?

This yoga retreat is open to all levels. Even if you are totally new to yoga, this could be an ideal opportunity to delve into the practice. Jenn and Laura will provide poses and adjustments to suit the level you are at.

How to Book the Yoga Retreat

Please book your space directly with Laura or Jenn by emailing laurabonini@btinternet.com or jenniferusher@hotmail.co.uk. You can also get in touch via the Facebook Event page.

What should I bring WITH ME?

Wear comfortable clothing, and bring a cosy jumper for the meditation (some people need this, others don’t). We’d also recommend you bring a jacket and either wellies or sturdy shoes as there will be the opportunity to go for a walk through the fields around Dod Mill. We will provide all yoga mats, blankets, blocks and other props for the yoga sessions. It would be a good idea to bring a bottle of water, but all other refreshments are provided. Homemade snacks will be available as well as a light, homemade lunch. Please advise Laura and Jenn if you have any dietary requirements.

Wildflowers, birds and why Dod Mill's meadow matters

Dod Mill's unimproved meadow is home to wildflowers that have almost disappeared from the British landscape. Here is what grows there, what it feeds, and what the birds tell us about the health of the land.
